Charlee Morton, a sophomore at Hampton-Dumont-CAL High in Iowa, won the girls discus throw title at the 113th Drake Relays with a lifetime-best mark of 146-3 (44.59m) in the opening round at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Morton, who had five throws in the series beyond her previous-best 133 feet (40.55m), became only the second female athlete in program history to win an individual crown in any event at Drake Relays, joining Sarah (Harms) Schmitz in the shot put in 2004.
